Do I need an interior designer?

Updated: Mar 2, 2018

There are 3 main reasons people hire an interior designer....Knowledge, Time and Style!

Knowledge:

There are generally three types of client, some know what they want but they don't know how to get it and they just need that steer in the right direction. Other clients have no idea what they want, or where to start and want someone to be with them for the whole journey. Then you have the third client, someone in the middle, who thinks they know what they want, but when in reality they see it, it isn't quite what they wanted and its back to the drawing board.

As an interior designer who works both commercially and residentially I see a huge range of clients, styles and projects. Having an insight into both the commercial and residential worlds means I can draw on successes from both and interchange them. This gives a unique perspective on a project which people might not have otherwise thought of.

Time:

Some clients come to an interior designer because they want to make changes but they don't have the time to do the research. They like the idea of giving a brief and letting someone else do all the hard work, finding the right furniture, rugs, colours etc and bringing it all together for them to just enjoy.

Time is very valuable and people don't always realise the amount of time and work that goes into creating that perfect space. Sometimes the simpler it looks, the harder it was to create.

Style:

Sometimes a client will have seen your work and just like your style. They will associate with it in some way, whether its something they desire or so
